This data layer provides information on 11 types of ecosystem resilience activities tracked in the Watershed Improvement Tracking (WIT) database. WIT is an activity tracking system that records, tracks, and monitors activities associated with watershed and aquatic ecosystem health and function (WIT). The database was queried to produce a data layer depicting completed actions promoting ecosystem resilience excluding harvest and silviculture activities (2001-2021). Ecosystem resilience actions are defined as activities that support the ability of an ecosystem to return to a previous condition following a disturbance from climate change and/or other stressors. These could include restoring native biodiversity, allowing for larger flows, stream restoration, removing barriers to migration, creating refugia, and restoring natural disturbance regimes (e.g., through prescribed fire).

Non-timber ecosystem resilience activities were identified in consultation with subject matter experts on each category of WIT codes. The following activities were included in this category: 'AOP Barrier Construction','AOP Barrier Removed-Non-Road','AOP Barrier Removed-Road','AOP Eliminate Fish Entrainment','AOP Improvement-Road','Basking Log Creation','Bear Resistant Container','Beaver Dam Analog','Brush Pile Installation','Cavity Creation','Cavity Maintenance','Channel Reconstruction','Connect to Feeder Channel','Crossing Facilitation Device','Crossing Improvement-Fish','Crossing Improvement-NonFish','Crossing Removal','Decommission-Treatment Scale 1','Decommission-Treatment Scale 2','Decommission-Treatment Scale 3','Decommission-Treatment Scale 4','Decommission-Treatment Scale 5','Disease Control','Dispersed Rec Site Improvement','Diversion Improvement','Dump Cleanup','Eliminate Stream Diversion','Erosion Control','Erosion Control-Riparian','Fence-Exclosure','Fence-Removal','Fencing-Riparian','Fireline Decommission','Fish Passage Structure','Fish Passage-Stream Chnl Mod','Fish Population Suppression','Flooding Artificially','Forage Enhancement','Fuel Treatment-Chip-Crush','Fuel Treatment-Pile-Yard','Garbage Removal','Glade Restoration','Grazing Structural Improvement','Gully Rehabilitation','Guzzler Development','Guzzler Maintenance','Hillslope Protection','Hydrophobicity Treatment','Increase Large Wood','Ingress-Egress Ramps','Install Water Control Device','Instream Flow Secured','Introduce-Beaver','Introduce-Wildlife Native','InvasiveSpeciesMgmt-AqNonPlant','InvasiveSpeciesMgmt-AqPlant','InvasiveSpeciesMgmt-Riparian','InvasiveSpeciesMgmt-Feral Hogs','InvasiveSpeciesMgmt-Wildlife','Lake Deepening','Lake Habitat Improvement','Lake Reconstruction','Lakeshore Habitat Improvement','Lakeshore Stabilization','Maintain Openings','Mammal Dens','Meadow Restoration','Mine Reclamation-Abandoned','Mine-Cave Protection','Native Pest Control-AquaPlant','Native Pest Control-TerrAnimal','Native Pest Control-TerrPlant','Nest Platform','Nest-Roosting Structure','Oil and Gas Activity','Open side-channel Habitat','Other Fuel Treatment','Pipe Capping-Removal','Playa Restoration','Pollinator Habitat Improvement','Pollution Control','Prescribed Fire','Rare Plant Protection','Reduce Allotment Size','Reduce Compaction','Reduce Facility Impacts','Remove-Feral Hogs','Restore Hydrologic Function','Riparian Erosion Control','Riparian Fall/Leave','Riparian Fencing','Riparian Native Planting','Riparian Prescribed Fire','Riparian Seeding','Riparian Soil Improvement','Riparian Thinning','Riparian Thin-Pre-commercial','Road Stormproofing','Seeding','Snag-Down Log Creation','Soil Improvement','Species Population Conservatio','Species Population Restoration','Spring Protection or Restoration','Storage-Level 1','Storage-Level 2','Storage-Level 3','Streambank Stabilization','Structure Addition','Structure Addition-Habitat','Structure Addition-Spawning','Structure Maintenance-Botany','Structure Maintenance-Wildlife','Structure Removal','Thin-Commercial-Riparian','Thinning-Non-commercial','Thin-Non-commercial-Riparian','Trail Decommission','Trail Stormproofing','Vernal Pool Development -- not for the purposes of stock watering','Water Quality Improvement','Well Plugging','Wetland Enhancement','Wetland Protection','Wetland Restoration','Wetland-Pit Construction','Wildlife Hab Improved','Windrow Respreading'
